Hargreaves worked with Skidmore Owings & Merrill (SOM) to develop the Syracuse University Athletics Master Plan. Syracuse University currently has three distinct campus zones. North Campus contains most academic buildings, quads and undergraduate dorms; South Campus consists mainly of upperclassman and graduate housing; and between the two lies the Lampe Athletic Complex, with the Manley Field House and the Comstock Art facility surrounded by a sea of surface parking. We approached the Lampe Athletic Complex Master Plan as an opportunity to create a “Middle Campus” that would become both a destination and a nexus of the Syracuse University Campus, linking SU academics with SU athletics.With the implementation of each of the three phases of the work, Syracuse University will take discrete, concrete, and immediately tangible steps toward the anticipated 2015 achievement of the new Lampe Athletics Complex vision, and a new Syracuse University vision.
