The existing Galleria Dallas, which once was the premier shopping experience in Dallas, had shown steady signs of decay for several years. The renovation design (done with SMWM) responds to a ‘high style’ Dallas culture and creates a unique look appropriate to the upscale location and history of the mall. Contrived, traditional, and conventional solutions to materials, lighting and landscape have given way to a completely new and fresh approach. The new interior ‘streetscape’ of light, sculpture and animation provides places for people of all ages while the exterior renovation includes a spiraling fountain that interacts with arriving cars to create a setting of luxury and contemporary style.
