Construction of Millennium Point, the urban plaza by Hargreaves Associates at the Ritz Carlton Hotel and Residences in Battery Park City, New York, was completed at the end of 2001. The hardscape plaza provides a quarter acre plaza to the Polshek Partnership and Gary E Handel + Associates-designed tower. The granite-clad plaza offers fixed granite benches as well as movable outdoor seating for the hotel café, with views toward the Statue of Liberty. Two tilted triangular fountains animate the space with cascades of water.
