Arts of Collin County is an innovative public-private collaboration Hargreaves Asscociates has developed with BOORA Architectes. The 124-acre arts park is located near the center of Collin County integrates the natural landscape with the performing and visual arts. This North Dallas arts destination, set in nature, will establish a unique framework that fosters connectiveness, diversity and activity for the community. The site offers a beautiful pallet of natural amenities that already establish the setting for the arts park. These include an expansive forest of mature pecan, elm and poplar trees, rolling topography, Rowlett Creek and its tributaries, and prominent hedgerows that enclose an agriculture field. The approach to the design and organization of the landscape builds on the existing character of the site and maintains principles focused on the environment, cultural and historical transparency, experiential quality, infrastructural opportunities, potential program and activities. In order to experience the natural beauty of the site, a key goal of the design relies on directly relating users to the environment.
