Central California History Museum
Fresno, California
The design for the Central California History Museum as a civic amenity in an urban park offering the community public gathering spaces of gardens, courtyards, fountains and seating terraces was done with Predock Frane Partners and Ralph Applebaum Associates. The local agrarian landscapes with their highly structured horizontal fields and sculpted soil, rich natural materials, and diverse water systems ranging from rural springs and cisterns to vast irrigation networks are echoed throughout the landscape design. These public spaces offer opportunities for both gathering and relaxation, while expressing the history of the Central Valley landscape.
