The strategies for the Landscape Design for the Hangzhou Financial Center incorporate open space solutions at three distinct scales: regional, urban and parcel. Working closely with Skidmore Owings & Merrill, this approach provides a development framework for the mixed use, multi-block area and is resilient and can be realized incrementally or in larger pieces while maintaining continuity. The landscape systems include topography and planting components, the water elements, and, pedestrian plazas, courtyards and pathways. Combined, these layers provide a rich diversity of places and experiences within the site and reinforce strong connections to the surrounding city and region.
