SYDNEY OLYMPICS 2000 Master Plan

Hargreaves Associates provided full master planning and landscape architecture services for this 1,900 acre project, designing and implementing the two major water features at either end of the site while overseeing the design development of the central Olympic Plaza and Park. Hargreaves Associates worked with the Olympic Coordination Authority, a public/private corporation formed to develop and deliver the site and facilities for the games.
The site program included stadium venues, arenas, aquatic and athletic centers, exhibition halls, and major infrastructure such as rail and ferry terminals. These major buildings are grounded in a well defined urban landscape of streetscapes, roadways, noble public spaces, and dramatic water features that give the Public Domain its own distinct identity as an essential component of the Olympic venue.
