SYDNEY OLYMPICS 2000 — WETLAND
SYDNEY, AUSTRALIA
The sculptural landscape created by the 4.5 acres of wetland ponds serves as a contrast to the active Olympic Plaza, and as a strong image of sustainability for Homebush Bay. Native plants filter and cleanse the stormwater as it moves through the wetland ponds. This water is then used for irrigation on the site, or is introduced into the adjacent creek and river system.
