MIT/Kendall Open Space is featured in Architectural Record
The urban open space at MIT/Kendall was completed in coordination with multiple architecture teams, including Perkins+Will, NADAAA, Weiss/Manfredi, and Elkus Manfredi Architects. The extensive landscape transformed surface parking lots into an iconic destination for a wide array of users including MIT students, local residents, Kendall Square workers and visitors.

RIT Campus Plan is selected for the 2023 Outstanding Design Award
The RIT Campus Plan has been selected as an Outstanding Design for the 2023 American School & University Architectural Portfolio. The Plan supports the strategic plan mission – a place that will support academic excellence, foster diverse student life, exemplify environmental and social sustainability, and be welcoming, inclusive, and accessible for all.
Hargreaves Jones was chosen by Riverfront Recapture to transform 60+ acres of riverfront into a new signature park
Hargreaves Jones will lead the master plan for a new riverfront park on the Hartford-Windsor line, which will incorporate a regional trail extension, a cover for boating, and adjacent development to connect to the park. Working with the community and local stakeholders, the site will be transformed into a unique park that will provide increased connectivity along and to the Connecticut River.

The Stitch kicks off in downtown Atlanta
We are excited to announce the start of The Stitch project in Atlanta. This transformative urban project consists of 14-acres of new park space in downtown that will cap interstates 75 and 85 (known as the Downtown Connector). The project will reclaim this once-divided neighborhood to incorporate park and open space, affordable housing, and mix-use development.

Park at Penn’s Landing Park breaks ground!
The Delaware River Waterfront Corporation (DRWC), state and city officials, and various project partners celebrated the ceremonial groundbreaking for the I-95 CAP and park. This momentous milestone brings us one step closer in realizing the $329 million project that will transform Philadelphia’s waterfront. Preliminary construction began in March, and is expected to take at least two years to complete.

Silver Lake Master Plan & EIR receive City Council approval
The L.A. City Council approved to rebuild the Silver Lake Reservoir into a massive 116 acre public park. The master plan identifies the framework for how the reservoir can be converted into park space, by proposing to introduce freshwater wetlands and aquatic habitat and restores remnant woodland habitat from the foothills of the Santa Monica Mountains. Woven within these bold environmental design moves are an extensive network of trails, a promenade, gardens, and flexible lawns for the community to connect with nature and one another. The Master Plan envisions a resilient legacy park that will endure for generations.

Construction begins at Sixth Street Viaduct PARC
The Sixth Street Park, Arts, and River Connectivity (PARC) project begins construction on 12 acres of green space under the newly built Sixth Street Viaduct. Seven acres of new park space on the east bank of the Los Angeles River in Boyle Heights, and as well as five acres of park space in the Arts District to the west. Construction is expected to take roughly two-and-a-half years.

AIA Honors Texas Parks for Downtown Dallas
American Institute of Architects has named Parks for Downtown Dallas the recipient of its 2023 Collaborative Achievement Award. The AIA celebrated the Dallas nonprofit for its role in creating four much-needed parks in the heart of the Texas city. In addition to collaborating with city departments, commissions, and boards, Parks for Downtown Dallas teamed up with design professionals such as Hargreaves Jones.

Award season – Scissortail Park!
Scissortail Park in Oklahoma City was honored with two awards this season: the 2023 Merit Award for General Design by the ASLA New York Chapter, the Partnering Champion Award by the International Partnering Institute (IPI), and the Ruby Level—Civil Construction ($25-$250 M) Partnering Award. A big congratulations to the whole team!
