North Waterfront Park the first WEDG Verified Park outside of New York

Mary Margaret Jones Featured in “Constructing Landscape” Film Series

Hargreaves Jones Shortlisted for Art Gallery of Nova Scotia Design Competition

Three handpicked teams recently presented their designs for the new Art Gallery of Nova Scotia, which will occupy an empty block on Lower Water Street in Halifax. The designs establish a new Arts District, revitalizing the waterfront boardwalk and creating a mixed-use community space. Hargreaves Jones, partnering with DS+R, has created a “living exhibit” in its landscape design, incorporating a pair of tidal inlets in anticipation of sea level rise.

Downtown Dallas Breaks Ground on Carpenter Park

The construction of Hargreaves Jones’ plan for Carpenter Park has begun! Our design turns a dilapidated, neglected piece of Downtown Dallas’ eastern edge into the largest green space in the area, including features such as a children’s play area, dog park, fountain, and Robert Irwin’s sculpture Portal Park Piece (Slice). The new park is expected to open in approximately 18 months.

Durst and Hargreaves Jones Announced for Penn’s Landing Redevelopment

Delaware River Waterfront Corp has announced The Durst Organization to lead the Penn’s Landing Redevelopment project, with Hargreaves Jones as the landscape architect. The plan features a 12-acre park that will cap Philadelphia’s I-95 freeway, creating a revitalized, green, pedestrian-centric space in Old City that establishes a climate resilient riverfront for years to come.

Dallas City Council Unanimously Approves Carpenter Park for Construction

July 20, 2020

Hargreaves Jones’ dynamic design for this 5.6 acre park has been unanimously approved for construction by the Dallas City Council. In addition to showcasing Robert Irwin’s sculpture, Portal Park Slice, the park will include areas for children’s environmental play, dog play, interactive fountains, a pavilion, and more.

Hargreaves Jones Unveils Design Alternatives for the Silver Lake Reservoir Complex

December 9, 2019

At a public meeting on November 2, Hargreaves Jones revealed three design alternatives for the Silver Lake Reservoirs Complex Master Plan. The reservoirs were decommissioned as part of the City of Los Angeles domestic water distribution system in 2017 and are now being repurposed as a new public park and green infrastructure including stormwater reclamation and habitat restoration and expansion.

Design With Nature Now Hits Bookshelves!

Congratulations to editors Frederick Steiner, Richard Weller, Karen M’Closkey and Billy Fleming on the publication of Design with Nature Now. As 2019 marks the 50th anniversary of Ian McHarg’s seminal book, the University of Pennsylvania Stuarts Weitzman School of Design and Lincoln Institute of Land Policy collaborated to explore the legacy and continuance of McHarg’s vision for regional planning using natural systems. The publication explores Five Themes and 25 Projects, showcasing some of the most advanced ecological design projects in the world today, including Hargreaves Associates’ Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park.
