Shortlist announced for the Portland Museum of Art (PMA) design competition
We are a finalist! Hargreaves Jones is part of the four finalist teams identified in the competition to explore PMA’s new campus unification and expansion in Portland, ME. 104 design submissions were received from 20 countries, including 250 different firms, out of which four high-design heavyweight teams were selected. Hargreaves Jones forms part of the highly respected Toshiko Mori Architect + Johnston Marklee + Preston Scott Cohen team, along with Cross Cultural Community Services, WeShouldDoItAll, Buro Happold Consulting Engineers, and Arup.

The 6th Street Viaduct opens this weekend, marking the start of the park construction
Construction will soon begin on the 13-acre park designed by Hargreaves Jones surrounding the new 6th Street Viaduct, designed by the Michael Maltzan Architecture and HNTB, which opened this weekend (July 9-10). The new bridge replaces the deteriorating raised roadway, while the new park space revitalizes the gritty industrial zone underneath and provides a connection between Downtown with the Boyle Heights neighborhood.

L.A. City Council signs off on $30-million Sixth Street Viaduct PARC
13-acres of green space adjacent to the L.A. River in Boyle Heights and the Arts District is becoming a reality! Funding for the project is underway, while the viaduct is scheduled to open this summer, and construction of phase one of the park should begin in Fall 2022.
