Google - Charleston East Campus
Mountain View, CA

Nestled between urban and natural areas, the landscape design for Google’s Charleston East Campus in Mountain View, California integrates with adjacent ecologies and creates a public realm that balances urban space for both Google employees and the local community, with habitat restoration and the re-establishment of a native California oak landscape.

The concept aims to provide various programs, including fitness, seating, cafes, and art installations while simultaneously enhancing ecosystem and habitat health to improve site sustainability. The 18.6-acre site includes the signature building by BIG and Heatherwick Studios and open space that will create a remarkable new destination and a landscape that is simultaneously hard and soft, and expressed as a native typology – a new standard for the city.
