San Diego Waterfront Park
San Diego, California

The County Administration Center Waterfront Park preserves and expands on one of the last remaining major open spaces on the San Diego Bay and has become a landmark for San Diego.

The park was designed to accommodate the crucial interface between civic and historic ideals and the present realities of a well-established and thriving city. 500 parking spaces are included on-site in above or below-grade parking structures with minimal impact on the park visitor.

Building from the core of existing historic landscape at the park’s center the design includes a large civic green, linear plaza and interactive fountain oriented to the San Diego Bay, and more intimate themed garden rooms. The park accommodates special events and festivals, farmers’ markets, day and nighttime urban needs, family recreation, and the many weddings that take place at the County headquarters.
