Margaret T. Hance Park
Phoenix, AZ

Margaret T. Hance Park caps over I-10 in downtown Phoenix and provides a welcoming oasis in a rapidly growing urban neighborhood.

The master plan envisions the transformation of the full 32 acre park with amenities for day to day use as well as large events and festivals.  A central shade structure by Lake Flato Architects will contribute to the park’s zero net carbon future as one of the country’s first smart parks, with native plantings, a cooling fountain, dramatic lighting, a desert landscape escarpment, and a historic firehouse converted to a restaurant creating destinations for a diverse population. The phase one Fiesta Bowl Play is complete and attracts children of all ages with its desert themed features.
